Biker eats 14 kilos of Guimaras mangoes, sets new record

A biker from Koronadal City is the new record holder for the most number of Guimaras mangoes eaten in 30 minutes.

Provincial Office for Agricultural Services (POAS) said Darry Aclo consumed 14 kilos of mangoes in Guimaras’ Mango-Eat-All-You-Can.

Aclo beat the previous record of 13 kilos.

Ronnie Morante, provincial agriculturist, said Aclo made the new record on May 20.

The Mango-Eat-All-You-Can event is part of the celebration of the Manggahan Festival, which culminated on Monday, May 22.

According to Morante, 5,456 persons participated in the event. They consumed almost 10 thousand kilos of mangoes.

The island-province of Guimaras is known for its sweet mangoes. It is dubbed as the country’s “Mango Capital.” IMT
