No amount of personal problems and life challenges has prevented Glena Tupas Dee from pursuing her interests in studying new things and answering questions her inquisitive mind poses.

A native of General Santos City, Glena grew up in Zamboanga and unavoidable personal circumstances during her teenage years brought her to the land of milk and honey where she eventually met her American husband Wayne Arthur Dee and stayed in Las Vegas, Nevada for several decades. Her father was a native of Ajuy, Iloilo and her mother came from Dulonan, Arevalo, Iloilo City.

Glena’s accounting background landed her several jobs including inventory controller/forecaster for a plant tissue culture laboratory, a practicing notary public in the states of California and Nevada, a licensed realtor and furniture designer, among others.

“I have a full-time job,” Glena narrated as she explained that she needs to support her family.

Among other things, she said that her other love is creating new things that can augment the income of her family.

Sometime in 2011, Glena’s hair started falling massively. At first she tried synthetic solutions buying medical stuffs suggested by her colleagues. The hair fall continued.

She then started taking things be her own hands literally by making a shampoo out a mixture of mature coconuts and other plant materials, which according to her own personal research are good for hair fall. In two weeks time, the hair fall stopped and she has observed the growth of new ones on her head.

She went to the Philippines a few years later and by chance saw a friend from the Department of Agriculture (DA) having a problem on his hair and she volunteered a helping hand by assuring him that she can make a solution to his diminishing hair line.

After identifying the local plant materials and using the same formula she had while in the States, she created a bar soap and a tonic which she gave to her friend.

The bar soap and tonic became the Shampoo Bar and Hair Tonic Duo that she is now mass producing to help those with hair problems and is being distributed by Glena Dee’s Health and Beauty along with her Master Heart Tonic, Fire Cider, Exfoliating Whitening Bar Soap and the Face and Body Scrub.

After a failed partnership with a partner from Guimaras who managed to grab her original ideas to start their own, the innovator and inventor managed to bounce and start anew and established Roselle Food Products which produces Roselle Tea, Roselle Concentrate and Roselle Wines.

Glena explained that roselle is more potent than bignay and nine times more powerful than any citrus as it is rich in vitamins A, B2 and B3, calcium, potassium, iron, and magnesium. It has strong anti-cancer properties and is good for high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart and sugar related problems, dizziness, vomiting and dysmenorrhea.

She said that the agriculture department has extended her so much help in producing and creating the Roselle Food Products.

Today, Glena Dee has become a partner of the agency in its livelihood seminars. She has customers from all over the country and individual dealers have started distributing her inventions.

She is planning to have her products analyzed in laboratories and have it patented as she is looking forward to commercially producing it.
