Business establishments in Iloilo City have been reminded that the deadline for the renewal of permits is on January 20.
Norman Tabud, Business Permits and Licensing Division (BPLD) head, said those who failed to meet the deadline will face penalties, which include a 25-percent surcharge and a two-percent interest per month of delay until the amount due is fully settled.
The Business-One-Stop Shop (BOSS) is open from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. during weekdays, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. It is located at the City Treasurer’s Office (CTO), ground floor, City Hall.
According to Tabud, there are only three steps for the renewal of business permits.
The first step is the filing of complete documents, including a sworn declaration of gross receipts, then claiming of Tax Order of Payment at the Examination and Inspection Division and lastly, paying and claiming of business permits.
Tabud said the first two steps can be done online. The form is available at www.iloilocity.gov.ph
Based on data from BPLD, a total of 15,558 business establishments are operating in the highly urbanized city.
Tabud is expecting a turnout of 80 to 90 percent by the last day of the renewal of business permits .
“Some of our businessmen prefer to pay for penalties after the deadline due to lack of finances for early processing,” he said.IMT
