A printing firm has proposed to put up a one-stop shop in Iloilo City to reduce the processing time for applications of clearances and permits.
Eastland Printink Inc., will employ an “end-to-end system” for the issuance of health certificates, police clearances and work permits.
Robert Bunagan, vice president for finance of the printing firm, said the system would make the application process faster and easier.
Applicants can also save money and energy because they need not to go to different offices to get their clearances and permits, he added.
Bunagan assured that the system is compliant with the provisions of the Data Privacy Act of 2012.
Security features are also in place to ensure that applicants’ documents will not be tampered with, he said.
According to Bunagan, the city government will not spend a single centavo for the establishment of the one-stop shop.
“We will be supplying the consumables, the hardware equipment, and maintenance of the system. We can also provide complement of employees to operate the system or we could train employees of the city to undertake the processing of the various documents,” he said.
Eastland Printink has been providing services in selected cities and towns in the National Capital Region (NCR), Batangas, Rizal, Pangasinan, Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac and Cebu.
On Monday, Aug. 6, Councilor Joshua Alim, led a committee hearing on the unsolicited proposal of the printing firm.
Alim said resource persons during the hearing were interested in the proposed one-stop shop.
The councilor is now finalizing his committee report to be submitted to City Mayor Jose Espinosa III.IMT
