The Police Regional Office PRO-6 on Thursday clarified that there is no terror threat in Iloilo.

PRO-6 spokesperson Superintendent Gilbert Gorero, in an interview with IMT News, said residents and tourists visiting Iloilo have nothing to worry about.

“It’s safe here in Iloilo and other areas in Western Visayas. There is no threat as of now,” he assured.

Gorero appealed to the public to stop spreading the memorandum from the Intelligence Division of the Police Regional Office (PRO-10).

“It is supposed to be confidential and should not be made public,” he said.

The memorandum contains a text message saying that “ISIS bombers” are planning to attack several cities.

“Their targets are the populated areas, malls, and plazas. Cities mentioned are Zamboanga, Davao, Manila, Cebu, Iloilo, CDO, and cities of Northern and Southern Luzon.”

Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesperson Chief Superintendent John Bulalacao, in a report by the state-run Radyo Pilipinas, said the document is “authentic.”

“The memorandum really came from PRO-10.”

But Bulalacao clarified that the content is still subject for validation.IMT
