Samuel Aguilar, chief operating officer of Eagle Crest Gaming Holding and Holding Corp. (ECGHC), sustained six gunshot wounds on his body but is now in stable condition at The Medical City in Molo district.
The Tigbuan Municipal Police Station, in its initial report, said two unknown men riding on a motorcycle waylaid a white Toyota Grandia van carrying Aguilar and his four bodyguards.
“The suspects fired several shots at the van,” said Police Senior Inspector Hermogenes Eulatic, police chief of Tigbuan.
“Only Aguilar was hurt in the incident,” he added.
Four empty shells of an M16 rifle and two deformed slugs of a .45 caliber pistol were recovered from the scene.
Aguilar was on his way to Iloilo City when they were attacked. He attended a hearing at the Regional Trial Court in the town of Guimbal.
Eulatic said they are looking at business rivalry or personal grudge as a possible motive in the ambush.
A hot pursuit operation against the suspects is ongoing.IMT
