The Police Regional Office (PRO-6) recorded two stray bullet incidents from December 31, 2018 to January 1, 2019.
The incidents occurred in the towns of Janiuay and Maasin, Iloilo province.
A 15-year-old boy from Barangay Subog, Maasin was injured by a stray bullet Monday evening.
The victim, who was identified as alias “Julius”, was hit by the bullet in his nape and is being treated in a hospital in Iloilo City.
On the other hand, a 59-year-old woman was wounded after being hit by a stray bullet Tuesday morning.
Magdalena Dulce of Aquino Nobleza West Street, Janiuay is now in safe condition.
In a report by radio station RMN-Iloilo, a 50-year-old man of Barangay Mambiranan, Calinog was hit by a bullet in his right stomach.
The victim was brought to Western Visayas Medical Center.
Meanwhile, the PRO-6 said one person was arrested in Mandurriao district, Iloilo City for firing his gun indiscriminately. A 9 mm revolver was confiscated from the suspect.

The PRO-6 deployed a total of 1,820 personnel to places of convergence and transport hubs or terminals in the region to ensure the safety of the public.
A total of 13 operations against illegal possesion, use, and sale of firecrackers were conducted by the PRO-6 from Dec. 16, 2018 to January 1, 2019 as part of its Oplan Ligtas Paskuhan.
The operations resulted in the arrest of one person. Found in his possession were illegal firecrackers worth P154, 775.IMT
