The Province of Antique is developing its bamboo industry by initiating a bamboo product development program called the Antique Human Development Program (AHDP).
Aimed at helping improve the lives of the farmers, the AHDP will provide livelihood programs and trainings such as furniture-making using bamboo.
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) here will impart technical assistance to promote the aptitude and competence of the marginalized farmers.

Bamboo is abundant in Antique. The provincial government came out with an executive order organizing the Bamboo Development Council to have a direct supervision with the enrichment of the bamboo industry.
ADHP Executive Director Marilou Llavan said that by using bamboo, the people need not to cut off trees. Thus, bamboo is a fine substitute to wood.
“We can guarantee that the products that we produce which are made of bamboo have endured thorough treatments to achieve outstanding quality.
