Congressman Ferjenel “Ferj” Biron and Vice Governor Christine “Tingting” Garin filed their certificates of candidacy (COCs) on Thursday.
Biron is running for governor of Iloilo province under the Nacionalista Party while his tandem, Garin, is seeking re-election.
Biron will face Congressman Arthur “Toto” Defensor Jr. in the gubernatorial race.
On the other hand, Garin’s opponent in the vice gubernatorial race is Barotac Viejo Mayor Niel “Beng” Tupas III.
When asked why she decided to run for re-election, Garin said: “May mga nagkahilanabo which will be explained sa tsakto nga tion.”
The filing of COCs for the 2019 elections is set from October 11 to 17, excluding weekends.IMT
