DOT and DPWH allotted 234M for TRIPP

A total of 234-M was allotted by the Department of Tourism and the Department of Public Works and Highways for their partnership projects under Tourism Road Infrastructure Priority Projects (TRIPP) to be fulfilled this 2013.

TRIPP consists of four projects ordered through R.A. 9593 or the National Tourism Act.

The projects included are improvementof the road in front of Nelly’s Garden, the construction of roads in Tacas, Jaro going to Antique, the construction of Iloilo coastal road and drainages going to the port of Dumangas.

An express elevator outside the new city hall is expected by DOT Region VI Regional Director Helen Catalbas.

The elevator will serve the tourists so they can go up to the penthouse located atthe city hall’s rooftop. Tourists will be able to appreciate the appearance of the whole city as well as the Island of Guimaras more up in the penthouse.

DOT is also planning for a river cruise which will help promote Iloilo River to the tourists, so every tourist will know the importance of river to every Ilonggos.
