Various food processors, health and wellness operators, producers of wearable and homestyle products, and fresh fruits and vegetables traders are up to showcase their products and services in an expo at the Activity Center of SM City Iloilo starting July 18 to 24.
A total of 47 MSMEs (micro, small and medium enterprises) from the city and province of Iloilo will participate in the weeklong Iloilo MSMEs Expo 2016.
Rebecca M. Rascon, officer-in-charge of the DTI-6, said the activity aims “to promote MSME products and services.”
“We assist them to link and introduce their new products in the market. Feedbacks from buyers also help in further developing their products,” she said.
According to Rascon, the MSME sector contributes largely to the economy.
“MSMEs serve as the backbone of the Philippine economy because they comprise 99 percent of total business establishments in the country. They also generate a huge percentage of jobs and economic activities locally,” she said. IMT
