President Rodrigo Duterte is expected to grace the national gathering of motorcycle riders at the Iloilo Convention Center (ICC) in Iloilo City tomorrow, April 6.
The 25th National Motorcycle Convention has kicked-off today, April 5.
More or less 4,000 riders from all over the country joined the two-day event being organized by the Iloilo Motorcycle Club (IMC), the oldest bike club in the country.
The convention is supported by the Department of Tourism (DOT) and the Philippine National Police (PNP).
Motorcycle clubs have been vocal in their opposition to the Motorcycle Crime Prevention Act, which was signed by Duterte last month.
Republic Act no. 11235 requires motorcycles to have bigger, readable, and color-coded number plates.
The measure, authored and sponsored by Senator Richard Gordon, aims to “curb the crimes perpetrated by motorcycle riders in tandem.”IMT
