Espinosa approves extension of Dabing’s leave

Punong Barangay Keith “Dabing” Espinosa

Mayor Jose Espinosa III has approved another leave of absence filed by Punong Barangay Keith “Dabing” Espinosa of Barangay Monica Bluemintritt, Iloilo City.

Dabing is one of the alleged “narco-village officials” in the city. She is the wife of convicted drug suspect Jesus “Jing-jing” Espinosa.

Lawyer Ferdinand Panes, head of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG-Iloilo City), said the extension of Dabing’s leave took effect on Aug. 21.

“I received the copy of the approved leave on August 28,” he said.

In her letter, Dabing cited “personal matters” as reason for the three-month extension of her leave.

No. 1 kagawad Antonio Espinosa has been designated as temporary punong barangay.

Dabing’s first leave took effect on July 21.

According to Panes, government officials, under the rules of the Civil Service Commission (CSC), can file a leave for a maximum of one year.

“If you are on leave, you will not receive your monthly honorarium,” he said.

Early last month, Dabing went to the Police Regional Office (PRO-6) headquarters at Camp Delgado in the city to talk to Chief Superintendent John Bulalacao but the latter was not in his office.

In a previous report by IMT News, Bulalacao said: “Ang masasabi ko lang sa kanya, is she wants to talk to me, I have no time for her.”

The village chief repeatedly denied her involvement in any illegal drug activity.IMT
