The Iloilo Provincial Capitol Complex Redevelopment Project is expected to be completed before the end of the second quarter of 2019.
According to engineer Gracianito Lucero, head of the Provincial Engineer’s Office, their target completion for the P430-million project is by mid-June this year.
“We want it done before Governor Arthur Defensor Sr. steps down from office on June 30, 2019,” he said.
The redevelopment project has four packages. Package 1 is the construction of a multilevel parking area (P185 million), Package 2 is the landscaping and park development of capitol grounds (P69 million), Package 3 is the redevelopment of the area surrounding the Western Visayas Regional Museum (P52 million), and Package 4 is the improvement of the power station (P18 million).
It is designed by renowned Filipino architect Paolo Alcazaren.
Defensor, in his 2017 State of the Province Adrress (SOPA), said the project would be one of his legacies.
“People will forget what we say about Iloilo but they will never forget what we did for Iloilo,” he stressed.IMT
