The Treasurer’s Office of Iloilo City recorded an increase in its business tax collection from January to April this year compared to the same period in 2014.
For the first four months of the year, according to City Treasurer Katherine Tingson, their office collected P346.87 million.
The figure is higher by almost P25 million compared to the collection during the same period last year.
Tingson attributed the higher amount of collection to the increased number of businesses in the city due to their simplified licensing procedure.
The city treasurer said the implementation of a mobile tax payment system, which is implemented under the INVEST project of the United States Agency for International Development, also helped raise their business tax collection. IMT
