Former Fifth District Representative Niel “Junjun” Tupas Jr. is not running in next year’s elections after all.
This is the scenario that Tupas’ estranged ally, outgoing Concepcion Mayor Millard Villanueva, sees as the October filling of candidacies for the 2019 midterm elections approaches.
In an exclusive interview with IMT News, Villanueva said he does not believe that the older Tupas is running against incumbent Representative Raul “Boboy”Tupas.
“The way I look at the situation, Junjun is not going to run against Boboy and I hope and pray that it will not change so that the conflict in the (Tupas) family will not be prolonged,” he added.
Considering the current political scenario, Villanueva said: “It will be best for Junjun if he wants to continue his political career.”IMT
