Teachers and pupils of Agkawayan Elementary School in Mambusao, Capiz would benefit from a P26-million worth of newly concreted five-kilometer Burias-Agkawayan Road, according to Mayor Leodegario Labao Jr.
Labao led the blessing and turnover of the farm-to-market road project on Feb 20, 2019.
“This project would make the travel of our pupils and teachers easier,” the mayor said.
The fund for the project was part of the P268-million loan availed by the local government of Mambusao from the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) in 2018.
Narcisa Villorente, head teacher II, said the teachers and pupils are also expected to perform well.
She thanked the local government of Mambusao for improving the condition of their road.
Labao also turned over another road concreting project and a covered gym in Barangay Tumalalud. Present during the event were the town’s councilors, department heads, and barangay officials.
Same projects were likewise turned over to the residents and officials of Brgy. Bato Bato.
Labao, who is seeking for reelection in the May 13, 2019 elections, vowed to pour more development projects into the town.
The contractor-turned-politician said he already spent millions of pesos from his personal pockets for several projects in Mambusao.IMT
