A magnitude 4 earthquake jolted the province of Guimaras Friday evening, March 22.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the quake hit at 8:51 p.m. and its epicenter was located 15 kilometers south of Nueva Valencia town.
The tremor, which was tectonic in origin, had a depth of 59 kilometers.
Intensity III was felt in Buenavista, Guimaras and Iloilo City; Intensity II in Oton, Iloilo and Bacolod City; and Intensity I in Miagao, Iloilo.
Meanwhile, the following areas felt the earthquake at various Instrumental Intensities:
Intensity III – Bago City, Negros Occidental
Intensity II – La Carlota City, Negros Occidental
Intensity – Tapaz, Capiz
