The Manggahan Festival of the province of Guimaras reigned supreme once again in the Fiesta Pilipinas Kasadyahan Cultural Competition of the Dinagyang Festival.
Represented by Hubon Guimarasnon of the town of San Lorenzo, Manggahan bested seven other festivals that joined the competition on January 26.
It’s the third straight year that Guimaras hoisted the championship trophy.
Manggahan also bagged three minor awards – Best in Choreography, Best in Performance, and Best in Costumes.
The tribe’s choreographer, Romel Flogen, won the Best Choreographer award.
Maasin’s Tultugan Festival was first runner-up while the Salakayan Festival of Miagao was second runner-up,
The Hugyaw Festival of St. Therese MTC Colleges and the Pinta Flores Festival of San Carlos City placed third and fourth runners-up, respectively.IMT
