A pilgrimage site in Alimodian town, Iloilo province was filled with garbage, mostly plastic pieces, on Good Friday, April 19.
Devotees who went to the Agony Hill left their trash scattered on the ground.
In a photo posted by Aira May Cadunggan Gabo on Facebook, she slammed the lack of discipline of some pilgrims.
“It’s not someone else’s responsibility to pick up your litter, it’s your responsibility,” she said.
“Magaling magdasal pero mas magaling magkalat ng basura,” Gabo added.
Alex Saclauso also posted photos of the trash-littered pilgrimage site.
“Penitensya dala lapta basura.Wala kita may mahimo kung kita mismo wala disiplina,” he lamented.
IMT NEWS has reached out to Alimodian Mayor Geefre “Calay” Alonsabe for comment, but he has yet to respond as of posting.
The Agony Hill is one of the famous pilgrimage sites in the province.IMT
