An estimated P4.2 million is needed for the repair of “damaged” traffic lights in Iloilo City, according to the Public Safety and Transportation Management Office (PSTMO).
PSTMO head Jeck Conlu said six of the traffic lights installed in the city’s intersections are no longer functioning.
Specifically, the amount will be used for the purchase of new “controllers” for the non-working traffic lights. Each unit costs more or less P700 thousand.
Conlu said he already met with the supplier to discuss the repair of the traffic lights.
“We asked them to submit the final price quotation as soon as possible,” he said.
According to the PSTMO head, they are still studying where to get funds for the repair.IMT
