WV on the way to medical tourism

The Department of Tourism (DOT-6) is gearing up for medical tourism in Western Visayas (WV).

Underlining the coming of stem cell medicine in Iloilo city, Director Helen Catalbas of DOT-6 said that they are now on their way to medical tourism.

She considered the introduction of stem cell in Iloilo city as a welcome development in the region’s tourism industry.

Recently, the Philippine Medical Association (PMA) had confirmed that St. Paul’s Hospitalwill be the pioneering hospital in WV to offer the stem cell Medicine.

Dir. Catalbas added that although medical tourism is not so notable yet in Western Visayas, she is confident that in soonest time with the coming of stem cell medicine, it will be known in the area of medical tourism.

Meanwhile, the DOT-6 is promoting health and wellness tourism through world class SPA’s and resorts which she deems a best way to bring the region in its best in medical tourism.IMT
